AOL Picks UK Online Editor-In-Chief From Marie Claire

By Steve Busfield: Marie Claire’s online editor, Carla Bevan, is to join AOL (NYSE: AOL) as editor-in-chief of its UK content sites.

Bevan will run AOL’s family of lifestyle sites such as Eleven, ParentDish, StyleList, Asylum, Spinner and Travel.

She will report to AOL’s director of media, Julian Downing, who recently joined from Hearst Digital.

Bevan joins from IPC Media’s Marie Claire, where she has been editor of the brand’s online site for three years.

She had previously been deputy editor of Condé Nast Publications’ glamour.com and has also worked at titles such as the Oldie, Metro, Food Illustrated, Daily Candy and More! magazine.
