One week into its life as a fully-fledged, all-singing ad network, AOL’s (NYSE: TWX) (NYSE:TWX) Platform-A has secured a big-name client in the shape of Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG. According to Mad.co.uk, the music industry giant is to promote the new Oasis record, Dig Out Your Soul, which the label’s subsidiary, Big Brother, released earlier this week. Oasis’s seventh album will be advertised across AOL’s portal and the Advertising.com network with help from behavioural targeting service Tacoda. The campaign was booked by media agency Agenda 21 and managing partner Pete Robins gives some clue to Platform-A’s attraction to advertisers: “We needed to have specific targeting capabilities to ensure a focus of budget, and we needed to dominate the environment when we got there.”
