imageYasmina Siadatan, this year’s winner of reality TV game show-cum-job interview The Apprentice has been awarded with a role in digital advertising: the show’s irritable patriarch Sir Alan Sugar has placed her at AmScreen, Amstrad’s digital advertising board business. As Siadatan tells Digital Spy, she’ll be involved in the healthcare side of the business and will be looking to get the screens installed across NHS buildings as well as selling advertising. Amscreen offers its screens on a free basis and last year trialled the scheme with Lloyds Pharmacy.

She’ll be up against competition from the Life Channel TV network which has screens in 1,500 surgeries. A previous Apprentice winner Lee McQueen also works in the recently formed division as development director and recently sealed a big deal with BP. Last year Screen Digest predicted that out-of-home digital signs would grow from their current share of 3.1 percent of annual Western European ad spend to 10 percent by 2012.
