Are Property Sites Leading Us Out Of The Housing Meltdown?

If you need proof that the housing recovery is underway, just look at property search site Rightmove‘s July-to-October interim management statement...

—October’s advertiser count of 17,600 was five percent up from the February low point, attributed to new homes development and more agency memberships.

—Rightmove is claiming record usage - August was the busiest-ever month, with 600 million page impressions (40 percent up on last year) and July-to-October up 35 percent.

That’s all consistent with a third consecutive monthly increase in UK house prices.

Just as, in advertising recession, advertisers turn to online for more guarantees about their spend, so, in a property meltdown, sellers and buyers alike are increasingly doing their business online.

In fact, is it inconceivable to say that property search ads sites are leading the UK out of the housing downturn?
