Bauer Media is to start buying in video to run across its network of magazine websites. It’s hired Blinkx’s content acquisition director Marco Nadotti to a newly created position of video acquisition and syndication director. So far, Bauer says it serves two million videos each month across sites including Heatworld and FHM.com, it’s made 500 short clips this year; but it wants to increase its output with both ad-funded and pay-for videos across broadband, mobile, IPTV and TV. Nadotti will report to Baer’s video head Steve Buckley. His role also includes outbound syndication of Bauer’s content, of course.
