Industry Moves: Spotify’s New CTO, BBC’s Sambrook, I-Level Head, Clickstream Technologies

Spotify: After the departure of Andreas Ehn, the music streamer has appointed Oskar Stål as its new CTO. He moves over from mobile transaction firm mBlox where he spent eight years, most recently as director of development. The company notes his ability to put together “high-performing technology teams”. From the Spotify blog.

BBC: Richard Sambrook, the BBC’s director of global news, is leaving to pursue interests “outside of journalism”, as he confirms on Twitter and on his blog. Next year would be his 30th at the Beeb—World Service director Peter Horrocks steps up to take his place, but keeps his World Service role.

I-level: The digital agency has created the new role of head of emerging platforms and chosen account director Oliver Newton to fill it. He’ll be focusing on selling ads on online platforms, apps and games. From Brand Republic.

Clickstream Technologes: The London-based online content platform company has hired Ian Brook as European sales MD in charge of international sales across the UK, EMEA and the US.
