BBC Newsroom Now Integrated, Will Bring More On-Demand, Personalisation

BBC News expects to produce more on-demand content for mobile and IPTV after flipping the switch on its new multimedia integrated newsroom. The broadcaster killed off separate Radio News, News Interactive and TV News departments to combine strengths and in the wake of cuts under the six-year Creative Future plan approved last month. New newsroom head Peter Horrocks wrote there would be more personalisation plus audio and video purpose-made for the web. But he conceded it “is the start of one of the biggest changes we have ever been through” and “many of the people who bring you the news are uncertain of their own futures” as redundancies or restructure loom.
