- BBC bandwidth dialogue: BBC future media and technology director Ashley Highfield has penned a manifesto urging industry collaboration in response to concerns over IPTV and the possibility ISPs could cap video bandwidth. In it, he warns ISPs against charging consumers extra, proposes a standard for “HD” broadband and raises the prospect of an intervention to reduce ISP reliance on BT (NYSE: BT) Wholesale’s network. Highfield revealed he had applied to the BBC Trust to add a feature to iPlayer that would automatically download an episode of a show to users who have stated their interest in the series; downloading would happen off-peak.

- Bebo drama figs: Bebo says its second interactive video drama series got 305,000 views on its first day. Sofia’s Diary, a remake of a Portuguese webcam drama that follows the social net’s Lonelygirl15 spin-off KateModern, got 1.3 million views in the first four days and 2.5 million after a week, rising to 2.6 million in the second week, C21 says.

- iTunes TV Germany: Continuing the slow rollout, Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) has added programming from ProSieben, Sat.1, ZDF Enterprises and Brainpool to its iTunes Store TV lineup in Germany. In addition to the standard shows from ABC Studios and MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA), Germans now get titles like Shaolin Wuzang and Kaya Yanar-Made - 1.99 euros and 2.49 euros per episode. Via Macsimum.
