Broadband Content Bits: Blinkx Adds Travel; Ethical.tv Launches; We7 Submits To Chart

imageBlinkx: The Video search engine has announced a series of search deals with travel sites, including the BBC Worldwide-owned Lonelyplanet.tv. Blinkx searches will show clips from several travel sites and give them their own channels—and the company will service contextual advertising alongside the results through its AdHoc platform, with the revenue shared between Blinx and the publishers. Hand Up Media: Edinburgh-based production company Hand Up Media has launched Ethical.tv, a video news site covering foreign development and fairtrade projects in the UK. The site is funded through a mixture of advertising, donations and a sponsorship deal with the ethically-minded Co-operative Group. Via Allmediascotlabnd.com.

We7: Peter Gabriel-backed, advertising-funded music player We7 has registered its paid download store with the Official Charts Company, so any tracks bought will be added to the official UK music charts, for what they’re worth. We7 has also registered with the OCC to provide data for a new chart, to be launched later this year. From Musicweek.com.
