Five: RDF-owned broadcaster Five has scrapped advertising on its Five.tv homepage in favour of a focus on its deeper web content. This comes after Channel 4 made the same move, although Channel4.com homepage ads were still in place there this morning while Five.tv has already dropped its ads. But Five is offering brands the chance to “take over” the site for between a day and a week, so the site won’t be entirely free from commercials. Via NMA.

Joost: Nine indie labels have licensed VOD TV site Joost to show 18,000 music videos. Joost has also inked deals to take videos from Last.fm, 88HIPHIP and interview site Uncensoredinterviews.com - all of which makes content from almost every label available on the platform, though some only to US users. FHM-ITN On: ITN’s multimedia division ITN On has signed up to provide broadcast content for Bauer Media’s FHM.com, including a weekly entertainment programme called The FHM Review, its existing video games show Gamerzine TV and its daily music news and interviews output. In the release, ITN On’s sales director Bryce Currie said he hoped it was “the first of many deals across Bauer Media”.

BBC-YouTube: The BBC is expanding its relationship with YouTube with the launch of new channels showing daily BBC World Service clips in six new languages: Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, Persian and Urdu. Release.
