ITV: The broadcaster’s Digital Productions department has launched interactive games on Sky and Virgin Media’s red button services to tie in with its new series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. The game has both free and paid-for options; Sky developed its version in-house and Two Way Media built Virgin’s. ITV (LSE: ITV) says it’s the first in a string of planned Sky/Virgin red button games. Release.

Swindon wifi: The rest of the country has to wait for a minimum guarantee of 2Mbps broadband, but the whole of Swindon is getting free wifi: some 186,000 local people will get free wifi via 1,400 hubs fitted around the town. Funded by public and private money to tune of £1 million, users can pay to upgrade from the basic service to get speeds of up to 20Mbps. From Guardian.co.uk.

IPTV Portugal: Not considered a world leader in IPTV, Portugal still has a comparable number of subscribers to the UK despite having a sixth of its population. The country’s Meo satellite and IPTV service has 505,000 subscribers as of Q3 - the UK had 418,000 IPTV subs at the end of 2008. Meo made revenue 2.3 percent lower year on year at €1.74 billion (£1.5 billion) in Q3. Via iptv-news.com.

Babelgum: Babelgum has got exclusive access to new animated versions of Scott Adam’s Dilbert cartoons, via a deal with producer RingTales.
