Broadband Content Bits: Last.fm Vid Ads, Corrie Clips, Masterchef, BBCWW/iTunes

Last.fm video ads: Remember the new visual music player it unveiled in May? Now it’s picked a company to sell ads in to it. Germany’s Smartclip, which already sells adds in to Zattoo’s TV app window, gets the task of selling clickable video and animated displays in to the Flash player.

Corrie clips: ITV.com is boosting the amount of original video on its Coronation Street site, including cast interviews, backstage footage, archive clips and a new behind-the-scenes series. Via NMA.

BBCWW gets Masterchef rights: The BBC’s commercial wing has won the rights to exploit the online rights to the BBC2 show Masterchef, produced and licensed by production house Shine. BBCWW will now run branded Masterchef site via bbcgoodfood.com. Shine had previously run all the show’s online marketing and publishing itself. From Mediaweek.

BBCWW/iTunes: The commercial broadcaster is now pushing its full-length shows for purchase Canada’s iTunes Store for the first time. Torchwood’s miniseries goes up 24 hours after broadcast on the Space channel. BBCWW is already on iTunes in UK, U.S., France and Germany.
