—ABCe Figures: The Audit Bureau of Circulations released its December figures on online newspaper consumption. The Guardian topped the list with nearly 37 million users, while the Mail Online reported nearly 33 million users. The Telegraph placed third with nearly 31 million users.

—BEREC: The new European super-regulator for communications, officially called the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications, officially opened for business with its first meeting.
