—Spotify/IODA: The streaming music app is adding IODA, the Independent Online Distribution Alliance, with two million tracks, to its roster of music licenses. One of the big distributors, San Francisco-based IODA could conceivably help Spotify’s US ambitions, too.
—Hi-Media: The French web publisher and ad network operator saw January-to-July web ad sales dip seven percent year-on-year to €28.2 million, but micropayment income due to its Allopass unit and AdLink acquisition rose 52 percent to €46.1 million. Release.
—Phorm: The Nationwide is joining Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN), Wikipedia and LiveJournal in requesting Phorm not track visits to its website, the building society tells the NoDPI.org campaign site.
—PSB figs: Spend on news by public service broadcasters fell 14 percent between 2004 and 2008 to £250 million, Ofcom’s latest PSB report says. Spend on original shows fell 15 percent to £2.6 billion. But viewers’ appreciation of PSB rose.
—Girlsinfootball.com: A new community site for young female soccer players has been launched by former Bauer Insight head Polly Courtney, MediaWeek reports.
