—UK-Torrents: The secretive BitTorrent tracker UK Torrents - also known as UK-T - has closed. The private community was estimated to have fewer than 5,000 members and has shut after legal threats were made on site staff. Via Torrentfreak.com.
—BBC Democracy Live: The Beeb has launched a new VOD site covering UK and European politics. The Houses of Parliament and Lords main sessions and committee meetings will be shown live as well as debates from the Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh assemblies.
—Cisco (NSDQ: CSCO) Tandberg: Cisco’s bid for Norwegian teleconferencing business Tandberg could be off because of persistent opposition from a group controlling 24 percent of the company, according to an unnamed source quoted by Bloomberg. Cisco needs 90 percent of shareholders to say yes and it has until November 9 to secure their backing.
