Virgin Media: After Telefonica suggested search engines pay ISPs for carrying their traffic, Virgin Media (NSDQ: VMED) speaks. “It’s a legitimate to question how this demand will be managed,” a spokesperson said. (Via ISPreview.co.uk.)

Onet.pl: The ISP subsidiary of Polish broadcaster TVN is launching a new VOD service called OnetVOD. It will offer both ad-supported and pay-to-view movies, TV series and other video programs, and will have 2,100 titles at launch. (Release.)

Pirate Bay: Surprise, surprise…The scuffle over Italian authorities enforcing a DNS block on P2P torrent tracker Pirate Bay has apparently resulted in a flood of traffic…to similar sites. TorrentFreak reports that BTjunkie (BT (NYSE: BT) stands for Bit Torrent, not to be confused with the UK telco) has seen a jump of 50 percent since the Pirate Bay block went into effect.
