Making good its promise to start extending its TV services beyond the living room, BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) has launched its official iPhone Sky+ app through the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) App Store. The free app replicates Sky+‘s blue EPG, plus adds a text search facility and allows Sky+ subscribers to log in and programme their box from wherever they are (“at work, in the pub or the gym”, the release suggests) using the existing remote record system. There already are unofficial Sky+ apps, such as TV Plus and Tioti TV, which can be used to set Sky+ recordings using the remote record facility—plus remote programming can still be set via Sky.com, mobile or even via text.
