Crispin, Porter + Bogusky Acquires Daddy, Scopes Out European Market

imageCrispin, Porter + Bogusky (the agency behind Microsoft’s Bill Gates/Jerry Seinfeld ads) has acquired Swedish digital ad shop Daddy, marking its first major expansion into Europe. Daddy has been rebranded CP+B Europe; financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. (Crispin is a division of holding company MDC Partners).

Crispin had previously resisted setting up shop overseas, preferring to service international clients from its offices in Colorado and Miami. It did maintain three small workspaces in London, Spain and Germany, but Co-Chairman Alex Bogusky tells the WSJ that not having full international operations had lost the agency potential business: “Conversations just stopped when some marketers learned we have no overseas offering.”

With Daddy, Crispin gains accounts like ketchup-maker Heinz and contact lens company Ciba Vision; the agency said it will also be able to better serve existing global accounts like Burger King and Microsoft. Bogusky told the Journal there were plans to open “three or four” other overseas offices—but not scale out as much as larger rivals like WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather. Release.

  • It's a great move for their expansion.  Like any other acquisition, well, maybe this can help their operation be successful.
