BSkyB Moves: Danny Rimer Joins Board; Griffith Upped To CFO
Index Ventures partner Danny Rimer has added BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) to the growing number of board tables around which he sits. Rimer, who opened Index in London in 2002 and nurtured the likes of Skype and Last.fm to acquisition, already sits on Joost, Spot Runner, Lovefilm and more. He will join the satellite broadcaster as an independent non-executive director.

It’s unclear what exactly has led to the appointment (Index hasn’t invested in BSkyB), though a statement from CEO Jeremy Darroch suggests it’s his expertise Sky wants to tap: “His wide-ranging experience in the media and internet sectors will be invaluable in the dynamic marketplace for entertainment and communications.”
BSkyB is also promoting group finance director Andrew Griffith to chief financial officer, replacing Darroch himself, who just took over the top spot from former CEO James Murdoch.
