Economist Group is to make 13 jobs redundant—two in commercial services and two editorial staff on its paid-for analysis service Economist Intelligence Unit—as part of a restructuring drive in the UK. The group’s UK MD Nigel Ludlow tells Guardian.co.uk the cuts are necessary to meet advertising clients’ demand for cross-media campaigns, meaning there’s less need for each division to have its own ad staff. DMGT-owned Associated Newspaper’s merged sales staff across the Daily Mail (LSE: DMGT) and Mail on Sunday and many other publishers have looked to save money through creating integrated sales teams.

Some more print closures, restructured and layoffs happening at the moment:

Haymarket has shut its specialist health magazine MIMS Cardiovascular, making the announcement in a short message on Healthrepublic.com. From Private Fraser’s Doomer Magazines.
Trinity Mirror is merging the management structures of three of its divisions, North Wales, South Wales and Liverpool, with the loss of two management posts. Via PressGazette.
