Electronic Arts’ Nashak Joins BBCWW To Run Gaming Platforms
BBC Worldwide has tapped Electronic Arts (NSDQ: ERTS) exec Robert Nashak to help build up its gaming offerings as EVP of Digital Entertainment. During the nearly two years he spent at EA, Nashak’s last role was as a VP charged with overseeing the company’s social gaming group. He previously led production for EA’s Casual Studios and was responsible for console, handheld and PC game development. Before coming to EA, in March 2008, Nashak served as VP/GM of Yahoo’s gaming unit for two years. He also worked as SVP for mobile entertainment publisher, Glu Mobile (NSDQ: GLUU), where he was responsible for creative direction and product development.
Earlier in his career, Nashak held executive posts at Acclaim Entertainment, Vivendi (EPA: VIV) Games and Disney (NYSE: DIS) Online. In his new role, he reports to John Smith, BBCWW’s CEO. Two months ago, BBCWW lost the president of its fast-growing U.S. operation, Garth Ancier. In addition to putting an extra emphasis on gaming as part of its growth efforts, BBCWW has been interested in trying to create more local content.
