imageEstonian pet social network company United Dogs and Cats, which runs the ad-funded UnitedDogs.com and UnitedCats.com, has raised €480,000 (£408,000) in VC funding. The money from a combination of lone investor Raivo Hein, state-owned Estonian Development Fund and Ambient Sound Investments, as a company blog post confirms. That last group, founded by some of Skype’s founding engineers, seed funded the business to the tune of €170,000 (£151,000) in April 2008. Since the sites’ launch two years ago they have grown to cover 16 languages and 200,000 registered users (and we assume that’s people, not pets).
