Her final exit slipped almost under the radar a month later. Now she’s joining Berlin-based Soundcloud, a website for music professionals to upload and transfer tracks, as a non-executive director. CEO Alexander Ljung says she will be “will be vital for our future development”.

Kantrowitz is also serving as adviser to MetroLyrics, a couple of other sites and has spoken with Spotify about its U.S. plans.

On MySpace Music, which has finally launched in Australia and New Zealand but which there is still no sign of in Europe, she said: “After a bit of a delay, it looks like MySpace Music will be able to expand internationally, which is really exciting.”
