French Digital Comic Publisher Aquafadas Receives €1.2 Million Funding

French digital publishing company Aquafadas has raised €1.2 million (£1 million) from Credit Agricole Private Equity and Soridec (via Neteco.com) The two-year-old Montpellier-based company, which provides online ad services, mobile apps and runs the digital comics business Ave!Comics, made revenues of €580,000 in 2008 largely through sales of Mac-based video software. The new money will go towards the development of Ave!Comics, which has published more than 200 comic titles that are available on Apple’s app store as well as BlackBerry, Android and Orange phones.
