Google UK Appoints YouTube Display Exec; AOP Product Committee; Indy Creative Head Joins UBM

Google (NSDQ: GOOG) UK: The Big G in London has appointed Bruce Daisley leader for YouTube and display ads, effectively replacing Jonathan Gillespie who left to become GMG Radio’s commercial head in January, the company confirmed. Daisley, who moves over from running Google’s UK agency account with Omnicom and previously worked at Bauer, will run a team of around 12 and will still report to UK sales director Mark Howe.

AOP: The trade body has created a new Product Development Committee and appointed Mary Beth Christie, head of product management at FT.com, as its chair. The committee will explore how publishers can diversify revenues online. Release.

UBM: Richard O’Connor, head of creative solutions with Independent Newspapers, is to join B2B publisher United Business Media (LSE: UBM) in a commercial role. O’Connor has held several roles at the Indy publisher for eight years. From Media Week.
