Hungarian VOD Concentration: Port.hu Takes A Filmklik Stake
Hungarian VOD site Filmklik is selling a 50 percent stake to domestic counterpart Port.hu‘s owner Zolt Veszelovszki, creating a stronger eastern European video-on-demand alliance.
Variety: “The deal allows Port.Hu users to access VOD offerings on the web portal.”
Berlin-based movie licensing outfit A Company took 25.1 percent of Filmklik at launch a couple of years back, intending to make a “pan-European” operation, we reported at the time. Another distributor, Senator Entertainment, also had a 25 percent stake.
Port.hu now claims 300,000 users a day.
