Industry Moves: Janine Gibson Appointed Guardian.co.uk Editor
Janine Gibson, editor-in-chief of MediaGuardian.co.uk, has been named editor of the guardian.co.uk, the latest in a series of changes by Guardian News & Media that are aimed at further integrating its print and online operations, as MediaGuardian.co.uk itself reports. Gibson has been executive editor of guardian.co.uk since May 2007 and will now be fully responsible for the country’s leading newspaper website, in terms of audience share, which also has considerable reach in the U.S. and elsewhere. Gibson, the launch editor of MediaGuardian, will be succeeded in that job by Jason Deans. Guardian.co.uk assistant editor Sheila Pulham moves to web executive editor (news). GNM is in the process of moving to its new home at Kings Place in north London, where the majority of Observer, Guardian and guardian.co.uk journalists will work across all three platforms. Or at least, that’s the plan.
