Industry Moves: Glam Adds VideoJug CEO To Board For UK Offensive

As part of its planned UK expansion, US women’s online publisher Glam Media is adding Nancy Cruickshank, CEO of how-to video site VideoJug, to its board. Previously MD of Handbag.com, Cruickshank was upped to Heart Digital MD when its NatMags division bought the site in 2006, so her experience in publishing for the female market will prove useful to Glam as it joins an crowded sector here in the UK.

Glam.com operator Glam Media said Monday it bought UK ad rep firm Monetise for an undisclosed amount in order to build its UK business on the acquisition’s 17 employees, anticipating $25 million to $45 million UK online ad revenue next year. The female online population is forecast to grow faster than general internet user base. But IPC and the former Emap (LSE: EMA), already replete with women’s mag brands, are already organising them in to meatier portals. Glam already operates uk.glam.com.
