Gurgle: Mothercare’s mother-and-baby social network has got new parents, hiring Telegraph Media Group’s digital channel development head Pettrina Keogh to be its new MD and Roz Stoyel as commercial director, bringing ad sales in-house, NMA says. Mothercare started Gurgle last year in partnership with social media agency Media Burn.

Guardian: Andrew Bagguley, who left as News International’s mobile head in August, has been hired as a consultant by Guardian News & Media as it looks to pull its socks up on its mobile news strategy. Despire forging ahead online, Guardian.co.uk is still using SMS and the ancient AvantGo service for mobile while others like Telegraph.co.uk offer mobile web alternatives. At NI, Bagguley introduced QR codes and mobile sites for Sun Online and NOTW. Via J.co.uk.

Reuters: The newswire has picked Breakingviews founder and former Lex columnist Jonathan Ford to be its first commentary editor. Starting in London next month, Ford will build on the columns Reuters added in 2007, offering insight, analysis and opinion to clients.
