imageNME publisher IPC Media has appointed Evelyn Webster, MD of its weekly women’s mag division IPC Connect, as its new CEO. Webster starts the new role on January 1 and replaces Sylvia Auton, who, after five years in charge, is moving to New York to IPC’s parent company Time Inc, where she will continue her role as EVP but with a wider remit as part of a restructure. She says she will be making frequent trips to the UK however, and retains her role as chairman of IPC. Webster started at IPC in 1992 as a graduate trainee and worked her way up the ranks of the circulation and marketing departments before joining the board in 2003.
