Industry Moves: ITV Local Commercial Director Moves To Friends Reunited
Craig Nayman, currently commercial director for ITV (LSE: ITV) Local, is being moved to the same role at ITV-owned Friends Reunited, even as the social network’s future is in doubt as the broadcaster looks to sell off its digital assets (via Mediaweek). Nayman joined ITV as director of sales for Granada Enterprises’ TV channels in 1996 and also worked for BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) during its launch. He joined Local in 2007.

It’s been a genuinely awful time for ITV of late and, as it announced a £2.7 billion loss in March, the broadcaster effectively put an end to any online expansion plans aside from ITV.com by planning to sell Friends and local directory business Scoot, and close ITV Local, potentially leaving people like Naymen without a job. It’s better to have a job with an uncertain future than no job at all. Of course, whether ITV can sell its online assets in this environment remains to be seen.
