The Internet Advertising Sales House, a part of the Interactive Advertising Bureau UK that oversees online sales firms, has named digital vet and former IASH head James Aitken as chairman, Brand Republic reported. IASH members have been working to clean up the industry’s image, which has been tarnished lately by charges of placing high-profile ads alongside inappropriate content. Part of that process has involved tapping senior media execs to lend some credibility to its attempts at reform. After looking at several high profile candidates, an unspecified majority of IASH members voted to bring back Aitken, who was its founding chair in November 2005. Aitken was also know for founding digital ad firm Mediabrokers, which was sold to online marketer aQuantive in 2004.

As incoming chair, Aitken replaces digital marketing consultancy Unanimis founder and managing director Khalil Ibrahimi, who stepped down after members felt that they needed a more independent leader.
