Industry Moves: Marin Software’s UK Office; Bazalgette Joins Sony Pictures TV; New NatMags CEO

imageMarin Software: US search marketing app developer Marin Software has opened a UK office and has appointed former director of search at WPP’s GroupM Ed Stevenson to lead it as European MD. The San Francisco-based firm’s software monitors companies’ accounts and generates metrics for advertisers and agencies spending more than $100,000 a year on paid search. The company says its European expansion is designed to cash in on the $33.2 billion global paid search market, of which Europe accounts for almost 25 percent.

Sony (NYSE: SNE) Pictures Television: Ex Endemol chief creative officer Peter Bazalgette has become chairman for Sony Pictures Television’s UK division. He will be advising the newly merged entity of SPTI and 2waytraffic, which makes shows including ITV’s Demons, Bebo’s online drama Sofia’s Diary and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, and will help recommend new senior executives. Bazalgette already advises Sony Music’s TV division. From Guardian.co.uk.

NatMags: Following the appointment of NatMags CEO Duncan Edwards as CEO president of Hearst Magazines International, former head of Emap France Arnaud de Puyfontaine has been chosen as his successor. Puyfontaine spent 10 years at Emap and will now report to Edwards, who was also made vice-chairman of NatMags. NatMags’ UK MD Jessica Burley will continue in her role. The company said last month it would lay off 15 percent of its staff. via Media Week.

Rambler Media: Russian portal Rambler.ru’s parent company Rambler Media has appointed a new CEO: Olga Trischeva, currently director for venture business development at Russian mobile operator VimpelCom, will take over next month. Via Yakov.
