Industry Moves: News Corp’s CastUp, Turner Find New VPs

CastUp: Samuel Pescara, southern Europe sales manager for Herzlia, Israel-based IPTV hardware maker Optibase, is leaving after six years to become vice president of sales for Castup, the Tel Aviv video content delivery network owned by News Corp.‘s (NYSE: NWS) NDS Group pay TV unit, he told us. NDS bought CastUp for about $11.3 million 12 months ago to enhance its broadband video delivery; its clients include MTV and Blockbuster (NYSE: BBI). Tsvika Vagman will step up to replace Pescara at Optibase.

Turner: Former BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) marketing director and Heart FM managing director Barnaby Dawe is joining Turner Broadcasting as marketing and comms VP, overseeing outlets like Cartoon Network, Boomerang, CN Too and Nuts TV, mad.co.uk reports. He will report to Turner’s UK and Ireland MD and SVP UK & Ireland Dee Forbes.
