Industry Moves: GroupM Interaction; ITV Digital; UBM Appoints Two Execs

imageGroup M Interaction: WPP’s GroupM network of advertising businesses has appointed Jakob Nielsen as MD of its Interaction digital arm (not the Jakob Nielsen, user interface guru). Previously sales director for Western Europe at Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), Nielsen will be responsible for the digital activities of the Mediacom, Mindshare, Mediaedge:cia and Maxus agencies in the UK. He replaces David Kyffin who was promoted to global head of ROI and direct marketing at Mediacom Worldwide in November. From NMA.

ITV (LSE: ITV) Digital: While the race to find a new CEO for stricken broadcaster ITV continues, the company has appointed ITV2 controller Zai Bennett to the new role of director of digital channels and acquisitions, making him in charge of ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, CITV and Men and Motors. Current controller of ITV3 and CITV Emma Tennant becomes controller of digital channels, answering to Bennett. From Broadcast.

United Business Media: B2B publisher UBM makes two senior appointments: Peter von Moltke is appointed CEO of its aviation division and will look after the Air Cargo World and Aviation Industry Group publications and sites. He joins after five years with travel industry distribution company Amadeus. Release.

—At the same time UBM has chosen John Day as the new CEO of its Global Trade division, which includes the Journal of Commerce and the PIERS shipping data provider. He moves over from forestry industry B2B publisher RISI where he was CEO since January 2007. Release.
