—BBC Newsroom: The editor of the BBC TV 6pm and 10pm news programmes Craig Oliver has been made deputy head of the Beeb’s multimedia newsroom. He replaces and will now report to Mary Hockaday who was last month promoted to lead the newsroom in its reporting across TV, radio and online. Oliver will have responsibility for online, on-demand and radio news—and will retain his role as editor of the BBC’s multimedia election coverage which swings into action again on June 4 when Britain goes to the polls in local elections.
