Informa Expects Little Adverse Effect By Year’s End

B2B publisher Informa says it’s financials have proved “resilient’ since it last report, in the summer, though some growth has tailed off.

The Datamonitor owner, in an interim report for January-to-October, says performance during the period was in line with full-year expectations.

Academic division: “Early indications for (subscription) renewals for 2010 are good and we do not expect there to be any material difference to previous years.”

Professional and Commercial division: growth “has slowed a little” but op margin is wider after cost savings.

Events and training: Always fewer conferences in Q3: “Those exhibitions and large conferences that have taken place have performed well.  The environment for smaller conferences and training events remains tough.” Conference delegates are leaving it later to book, while training candidates are waiting longer to book and renew.
