Irish Health Clinic Search Engine Raises €1.25 Million In VC Funding
Just as the advertising market goes into New Year overdrive selling detoxifying foods and gym memberships, RevaHealth, a Dublin-based search of global health clinics, has raised €1.25 million (£985,000) in VC funding. Pehub.com reports the round was led by Mianach Venture Capital, a backer since the site’s launch in 2006, and Enterprise Ireland. Having concentrated on dentist and cosmetic clinics in the UK and Ireland, the money will be use to expand the site into wider local and national healthcare markets and into the Far East and America by late 2009. And there are some lucrative healthcare markets to tap into: RevaHealth stores information on 60,000 clinics but estimates that the 1.5 million healthcare clinics worldwide have a combined annual turnover of $500 million.
