It’s Official: Springer To Buy Rest Of Bild.T-Online; Forming Bild Group
We reported on some of the unconfirmed reports coming out in October, and now has been officially announced: Axel Springer, one of the biggest media companies in Germany/Europe, is buying Deutsche Telekom’s 37 percent stake in Bild.T-Online that it does not own yet. Financial details of the deal weren’t disclosed. Springer will combine all newspapers, magazines and websites related to the publication under a new unit called the Bild Group.

Springer purchased European women’s portal AuFeminin in June, and also bought control of financial site Wallstreet:Online, and hamburg.de, a local-information site for the city of Hamburg, all this year.
DT said the sale of its stake in Bild.T-Online.de will allow it to concentrate on “targeted” growth areas.
