ITV To Sell Movies Via BIBC Websites, TV Boxes

In UK, ITV is to begin offering movies from its ITV DVD and Rank Film subsidiaries for sale via British Internet Broadcasting Company (BIBC) online retail sites. Some 500 hours of film, including the likes of Strictly Ballroom and The Shawshank Redemption, will be made available initially via BIBC’s BoxOffice365 website, but will later this year also be available via IPTV set-top boxes, Guardian reported. That would see ITV’s on-demand offering grow from the web-based catch-up TV features it currently has in a staggered roll-out. Movies would be owned by consumers and would not expire.
