Qualifications: Solid reporting skills. Proficiency in current financial reporting techniques and/or knowledge of media and entertainment industries a plus, as is experience writing online. 2-5 years experience with a financial or business publication and newswires. University degree preferred. The right candidate will be comfortable working on deadline in a breaking-news environment and will be an independent self-starter who can work virtually with a global team.

The journalist:
—work with our UK editor, and other journalists based in UK/London.
—will cover funded start-ups and track venture capital and investment activity in our interest areas
—will cover public companies
—will work on a mix of assigned and self-selected stories
—will report from conferences and special events.
—will travel in the UK and occasionally abroad.
—will be comfortable with our tools (able to use a digital camera and recorder, take hand-held video, transmit files)
