Livebookings Gets £6.5 Million To Extend Online Table Reservations

Working on the assumption that people would rather book a restaurant table online than on the phone, London-based Livebookings has raised £6.5 million in venture capital to expand the idea in to Europe and enhance its infrastructure. Founded in 2001 Livebookings’ system lets its 17,000 member restaurants receive bookings via over 500 content and ticketing destinations like Time Out, MSN and Lastminute.com. Chains on board include La Tasca, Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe. Next step appears to be seeking more partners on the continent. The investment was led by Balderton
