Ministry Of Sound Planning Mobile Music Store

UK dance music company Ministry of Sound has drawn up plans for a mobile music subscription download service dubbed Earwig, according to NMA. The company hopes to include the four major record labels, and is believed to have approached Channel 4 to be a media partner, Phones4U to be a retail partner and Kerrang and Kiss FM to brand different genres within the service. Earwig, intended to rival Omnifone’s Musicstation, is expected to have gold, silver and bronze tariffs that will allow subscribers to download a set number of tracks each month.
