—RAI joins YouTube: Italian TV net RAI says it will upload several videos each week to its own YouTube channel and will use the site’s VideoID fingerprinting technology to monitor for infringements. That’s a far cry from RAI’s domestic rival MediaSet, which this summer said it would sue YouTube for €500 million - still, after a Spanish court in July ordered YouTube to remove Telecinco’s output, it’s a welcome European boost for the video site.
—I-concerts on Fastweb: Also in Italy, broadband ISP Fastweb is adding video from i-concerts, the live music site’s first Italian foray. The videos form a new on-demand music channel with gigs from the likes of U2, R.E.M. and Winehouse. BTV News.
—TeliaSonera CDN: Scandinavian telco TeliaSonera says it will offer broadcasters a broadband video delivery network through a hookup with web video distributor MPS in its native Sweden. The service will offer content management, DRM, security, reporting, statistics and user interfaces. Release.
