BBC relaunches mobile site: The BBC has launched a beta version of its new mobile homepage, which lets users personalize the BBC content they view on their handsets. Users can choose different parts of the BBC mobile site and arrange the homepage as they wish, expanding or shrinking sections to achieve their own mix of music, news, sport, TV and radio, or any other BBC mobile content. They can also localize their preferences for BBC information, including weather news, TV schedules or news stories. The BBC’s catch up service iPlayer is presented too, along with live schedule information and AV content from across the BBC.

Times Mobile launches location-based guide: Times Mobile has launched its new “Going Out Guide,” a free service that integrates the phone’s location and Times Recommended RSS feeds for film, eating and music, which allows the paper to promote specific recommended films, restaurants and music events. The service will be funded through advertising and sponsorship (release).
