Flirtomatic: Well, at least we know what kind of site the web and mobile “flirting” network is now. Flirtomatic has just closed a month-long contest to find the next Miss Great Britain by taking over 3,000 submissions from ladies around the UK. The service is a sponsor for the annual event and took over 100,000 ratings for pictures submitted by contestants. Still, the girls’ entries were just 30 percent of the site’s submissions - the rest were from males hoping to be judges.

AQA: TheSMS-based search service AQA 63336 has launched a commercial microblogging service that allows users to make money off of the texts that are received by their followers - that is, if your followers are willing to pay for the messages that they receive from you. The memorably named AQA2U will send the texts out to followers using premium text, with publishers getting a “majority share” of the net revenue received. More at mocoNews.net...

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) sells mobile TV unit: Nokia confirmed to Reuters today that it has sold its enterprise-focused mobile TV unit to India-based Wipro. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Although mobile TV has struggled to take off, the sale of the unit does not necessarily mean that the world’s largest handset-maker has become uninterested in the sector. A Nokia spokesperson told Reuters: “We wanted to focus on the consumer side of things, the mobile TV client in the devices, rather than on the business-to-business side.

Gambling deal for MFuse: MFuse has signed up Probability to be the first to use its payments platform for mobile gambling. Probability recently signed a deal with TV show producer Fremantle to “develop slot machine games based on some of its programmes including the X Factor and the Price is Right. It markets its games direct to consumers through the Ladyluck brand, which has more than 400,000 UK users” reports Guardian.co.uk.
