Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Point & Find goes Beta: Nokia released today in the US and UK a beta version of Point & Find, which allows people to access information and services through the internet, by pointing their mobile phone camera at “real-life” objects. Users can point their mobile camera phone to a poster of a new movie to access the film’s trailer, read reviews, or find the closest cinema where it’s showing. In the UK, Turner Europe is using the service to allow users to point their camera phone at various Cartoon Network related objects to access show or product information on their phones.

Nokia Messaging supports Hotmail: Nokia announced today that users can now access Windows Live Hotmail through its email service for its devices Nokia Messaging. In May, Nokia Messaging will also be available through the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, its first touchscreen device. Aside from Hotmail, Nokia Messaging, a free to download service, supports Yahoo! (NSDQ: YHOO) Mail, AOL (NYSE: TWX) Mail, and Gmail among many others (release).

Nokia Photo Browser prototype app released: Nokia’s Beta Labs has released a prototype application of its Nokia Photo Browser, that gives users a few new ways to browse photos.

Yahoo launches new mobile homepage: Yahoo has officially rolled out its mobile homepage Yahoo! Mobile on the mobile web, and as an iPhone application. The service, first introduced in February at Mobile World Congress, ties together its various mobile offerings into one place including its search product, Onesearch, its social networking product, Stay Connected (formerly OneConnect) and its content management product My Interests (formerly known as OnePlace).

T-Mob Germany Bans Skype: T-Mobile is blocking the new Skype iPhone app in Germany. Spokesperson Alexander von Schmettow told Local the “high level of traffic would hinder our network performance”. In the UK, however, O2 told Online Times it will not block the app and that, since it was available in the App Store, it would be available to its customers anyway. It seems that the fact that it runs on Wi-Fi rather than on its networks has made it more palatable to O2.
