Mobile Content Bits: Spike Milligan; iPhone, Prada Update; Videos

Spike Milligan: The work of quintessential Goon Spike Milligan has been made available for mobile, including mobile wallpapers of his cartoons and character sketches, ringtones of Goon quotes and audio books of his war diaries. The content is available on the Spike Milligan website and is run by Rok Global Media according to The Register.

Handset Updates: Engadget has some rumored specs for both the new iPhone and the new Prada phone. There’s a whole lot of 3G stuff and not much changes of style.

Vtap: Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC) has added a Vtap button to its portal, which will give users access to videos from user-generated sites like YouTube, DailyMotion and MySpace. The Vtap button is run by Veveo, which claims to offer 150 million web videos reports C21 Media. Veveo has a similar deal with Motorola.

College: The National Intramural– Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), which reaches 5.5 million students in 820 colleges across the US, will launch a menu-driven mobile web application that will allow students and others to access recreation and intramural information on their web-enabled handsets. The service will be advertising and sponsor supported and run by Hothand Wireless. Students can also opt-in to receive text messages from staff.
