Mobile Social Network Wubud Secures First Round From Paul Birch

So what’s Bebo co-founder Paul Birch doing these days, after having closed that little $850 million acquisition? Apparently, he’s getting into angel investing. Wubud, a mobile social network founded by serial entrepreneur and former AOL exec Paul Walsh, is his latest investment. Financials weren’t disclosed. Wubud’s blog says the app is still in its testing phase and will be open to the public in the “near future.” The site is still pretty bare bones for now, offering little more than a few blog posts on company news and the option to sign up for updates from Wubud.

Paul Birch was just a “minority co-founder” of Bebo, with his brother Paul. But the two worked more closely together on BirthdayAlarm.com before that.

You’re correct Robert. Don’t forget that they both founded Birthday Alarms too - which has over 50million subscribers.

Thanks for writing about this Amanda - I’ve got an open door policy so email me anytime. For now, I can tell you that Wubud is location and presence based - allowing you to find, connect and communicate friends, places and events.
