MSN UK is tapping Vancouver-based NewspaperDirect’s PressDisplay.com to launch an aggregator for digital newspaper editions.

PressDisplay.com itself already offers newspaper pages from over 1,000 newspapers, across web, smartphones and e-readers, pulled together by an edited front page. MSN UK is getting a slightly customised version, running on pressdisplay.com, “MSN PressDisplay”, that gives a bit more prominence to UK sources and styles a homepage in MSN UK’s design.

Users get three free stories per newspaper per day, after which memberships cost £8.95 a month for access to 31 issues or £22.95 a month for unlimited use. PressDisplay also offers keyword media monitoring.

MSN UK executive producer Peter Bale, in the release: “At a time when the survival of newspapers is being questioned we see this as a great outlet for newspaper content.” There’s not yet a link from MSN UK News, however.
